MakerBot is making a big push for the mainstream at CES 2014. The company is onto its fifth generation of 3D printers. Fourteen winners were selected for the Best of CES 2014 Awards by the Engadget staff and MakerBot is one of them.
At CES 2014 they introduce their affordable Plug and play 3D printer, MakerBot Replicator Mini, a mini compact 3D printer for the amateur user and for a price which today seems remarkable low. You can buy it for US$ 1,375 (around £835). The printer is both very small (10.0 L x 10.0 W x 12.5 H cm) and very easy to use.
With this printer you can either create and print your own cool 3D stuff by using their app, or buy 3D Models from the MakerBot Digital Store starting from price US$ 0.99. With this printer you can create your own realistic prototypes and models for demonstrations and presentations. With its 100 Micron layer resolution you will reach a quality that doesn’t need more work with sanding, finishing or postproduction.
MakerBot Replicator Mini is very easy to use and you need no earlier experience from working with 3D printing. The printer program will provide you with the tools you need to make your own creative and cool stuff. When ready you just send your file to the printer via your wifi or USB cable and push the button to print.

MakerBot Replicator Z18
If you need more power as a professional, MakerBot offers the MakerBot Replicator Z18. This printer is for you who works with extra-large industrial prototypes, models, and products. The printer has 3.5-inch Full Color LCD Display and is 30.5 L x 30.5 W x 45.7 H cm.
The Z18 has an On-board Camera which automatically takes reference pictures of final prints and saves them to your cloud storage library. You also have a Mobile Control which allows you to remote monitoring from on-board camera feed and receive notifications and alerts from you 3D printer.
MakerBot Replicator Z18 will be introduced spring 2014 and for the the price: US$ 6499.
