The Dream of a Quantum Internet Comes True!

Amazing things are happening in the scientific world! The dream of quantum routers and a quantum Internet are maybe soon in reach! A team of chinese physicists at the Tsinghau University in China have succeeded to show that this is possible.

The Physicists have succeeded in transporting quantum information 150 meters from one ensemble of atoms to another. This is a very important breakthrough and it opens up for a new way of transporting information!

The basic idea and goal in a quantum Internet is to transport the information from a group of incoming particles, photons, to atoms in the quantum router. The receiving atom then passes this information further to a new group of photons that bring it to the next router and ensemble of atoms.

The scientific achievement still has its challenges. Today the Physicists are facing the problem with the fragility of the quantum. Transporting the small objects easily breaks them and this problem needs to be solved. One way is to use quantum teleportation. By using this method the scientists can transmit a qubit from one place to another without the intervening of space. If the scientists succeed in this, the discussion about sending information faster will cease, we can´t do it faster!

The Physicists will soon deliver the solution to revolutionary Internet and how we can transport information. Beside the excitement created by this scientific breakthrough, this progress also trigger my fantasy that the next step in scientific achievement could be to reach the human consciousness and to travel in time and space!
